-bounds for Pseudo-differential Operators on Compact Lie Groups
Given a compact Lie group G, in this paper we establish L p-bounds for pseudo-differential operators in L p(G). The criteria here are given in terms of the concept of matrix symbols defined on the noncommutative analogue of the phase space G× Ĝ, where Ĝ is the unitary dual of G. We obtain two different types of L p bounds: first for finite regularity symbols and second for smooth symbols. The c...
متن کاملLie group actions on compact
Let G be a homotopically trivial and effective compact Lie group action on a compact manifold N of nonpositive curvature. Under certain assumptions on N we prove that if G has dimension equal to rank of Center π1(N), then G must be connected. Furthermore, if on N there exists a point having negative definite Ricci tensor, then we show that G is the trivial group.
متن کاملDesingularizing Compact Lie Group Actions
This note surveys the well-known structure of G-manifolds and summarizes parts of two papers that have not yet appeared: [4], joint with J. Brüning and F. W. Kamber, and [8], joint with I. Prokhorenkov. In particular, from a given manifold on which a compact Lie group acts smoothly, we construct a sequence of manifolds on which the same Lie group acts, but with fewer levels of singular strata. ...
متن کاملOn the Algebra of Differential Invariants of a Lie Pseudo–Group
In this paper we prove some basic theoretical results underlying the moving frame theory of pseudo-groups developed in the first two papers in this series. The first result demonstrates that a pseudo-group that acts locally freely at some sufficiently high order acts locally freely at all subsequent orders, and thus can be completely analyzed with the moving frame method. The second result is a...
متن کاملOrthogonality within the Families of C-, S-, and E-Functions of Any Compact Semisimple Lie Group
The paper is about methods of discrete Fourier analysis in the context of Weyl group symmetry. Three families of class functions are defined on the maximal torus of each compact simply connected semisimple Lie group G. Such functions can always be restricted without loss of information to a fundamental region F̌ of the affine Weyl group. The members of each family satisfy basic orthogonality rel...
